I sure hope the other WBF guys are reading this, because it’s right up their alley, no pun intended. The ever wonderful GLOBALIZE THIS! today pointed out that each year, the U.S. exports US$30.4 billion in bull semen. The fully grown cattle are then sold back to the U.S. at a ratio of around 10:1 against cattle exports. The thing that made me stop and think, was the similarity between the exportation of bull semen, and G.W.’s imperialistic vision of the free world. “Amusing. Not funny, but definitely amusing.”
Well, looks like Googlebot’s been a bit sporadic lately. Only a dozen or so pages sucked up over the past few days, and definitely not the old favourite. It’s quite depressing actually, that I’m starting to judge the success of my site by how high I rank for she bangs richard, but you’ve got to have a benchmark right?
Hmm… I wonder how I rank for she bangs googlebot?
And away we go! Highlight of the weekend is the Google crawler coming to town. I can taste those rankings already. Crawl away baby, crrrraaawwwl away!
I’m starting to pull across content from my older web sites into this new one. Here’s another still frame from a MiniDV of some oriental lillies.
These two photos are actually frames from a MiniDV I took on a recent trip to Lord Howe Island. This was my first time there, and I was absolutely blown away.
The top left photo is Ned’s beach, the second and more docile of the two beaches on the surf side of the island, as opposed to the still lagoon side. The other photo is of a banyan tree, which I like for some reason. (Not so much the banyans, but the photo)
Well, I’ve finally upgraded my blog to RSS 2.0, and added a few other improvements. Those textual, unformatted and timezone restrictive RFC822 dates are so much better than a universal standard such as ISO 8601.
Poor Niue, a small nation in the Pacific Ocean of around 500 people, and the smallest independent state in the world. Hit by a cyclone, with NZ$50M in damage. Apparently one person was killed, but so much of the infrastructure was destroyed that the cost may force them to give up their independence and return to New Zealand rule. Who else but New Zealand would allow such a small island to become independent, support them financially while doing so, and look after them through the bad times? In this day and age when invasion and virtual annexation is the norm, good on you New Zealand!
Well, it had to happen I guess. I’ve finally moved to CSS-P, and took the opportunity to add an RSS feed to my blog.
