Late for radio again… Actually, I wanted to remake the original Late for radio to see how similar it would be if I did, assuming that the difference would be a gauge of my competency as an editor.
Unfortunately I ran out of tape as I got to the on air moment, so I’ve incorporated that into it as well. Well the end of tape obviously wasn’t filmed, so I had to render all that myself in FCP. Note that the noise effect is pink noise, which balances the noise across all frequency bands, and not white noise which most people choose, as the random dynamics are usually too harsh for the ears.
This time I’ve used several sound effects, at the beginning and at the end, and of course layered the Spazzys again. All up I think there’s about 6 audio tracks and 2 video tracks, and took about 2 hours to get from the raw log to the 320×240 master. My machine is a really old G3 Mac, so most of that time is waiting for FCP rendering.
In Theatresports we have a game called Emotional Replay, where a neutral scene is replayed with a certain emotion. This vog post could be titled “Late for radio (with stupidity)”.
